Cardiac dyssynchrony in a Becker cohort: preliminary results

چکیده
Background We previously reported the early detection of cardiac motion dyssynchrony in GRMD dogs (a model for Duchenne myopathy with cardiac involvement). In this new work, we applied the same dyssynchrony index in a cohort of 88 Becker patients of various age (38,7 ±13,6 years; range from 18 to 68) and disease burden (number of segment count with any Gd late enhancement : 4,37 ± 3,14 ; range from 0 to 12). We compared the data obtained to those in 10 control subjects.

Cardiac magnetic resonance assessment of dyssynchrony and myocardial scar predicts function class improvement following cardiac resynchronization therapy.
OBJECTIVES We tested a circumferential mechanical dyssynchrony index (circumferential uniformity ratio estimate [CURE]; 0 to 1, 1 = synchrony) derived from magnetic resonance-myocardial tagging (MR-MT) for predicting clinical function class improvement following cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). BACKGROUND There remains a significant nonresponse rate to CRT. MR-MT provides high quality...
متن کاملEvaluation of the potential impact of reconstruction method on dyssynchrony parameters derived by phase analysis of gated-SPECT MPI: Comparison of two quantitative software
Introduction: Gated SPECT myocardial perfusion scanning has new capabilities in addition to its main applications such as left ventricular dyssynchrony using phase analysis. Phase analysis has been investigated through various software including Emory Cardiac Toolbox (ECTb) and Quantitative Gated SPECT (QGS). The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of reconstruction par...
متن کاملEffects of physical exercise on cardiac dyssynchrony in patients with impaired left ventricular function.
AIMS The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of exercise on dyssynchrony in patients with left ventricular dysfunction. METHODS AND RESULTS Sixty patients with a left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) ≤ 35% were studied. Interventricular mechanical delay (IVMD), intraventricular mechanical delay [Ts-(lateral-septal)], and left ventricular filling ratio were measured at rest a...
متن کاملCardiac dyssynchrony analysis using circumferential versus longitudinal strain: implications for assessing cardiac resynchronization.
BACKGROUND QRS duration is commonly used to select heart failure patients for cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). However, not all patients respond to CRT, and recent data suggest that direct assessments of mechanical dyssynchrony may better predict chronic response. Echo-Doppler methods are being used increasingly, but these principally rely on longitudinal motion (epsilonll). It is unkno...
متن کاملThe role of electrocardiography in the elaboration of a new paradigm in cardiac resynchronization therapy for patients with nonspecific intraventricular conduction disturbance
Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is associated with a favorable outcome only in patients with left bundle branch block (LBBB) pattern and in patients with a QRS duration > 150 ms, in patients with non-LBBB pattern with a QRS duration of 120-150 ms usually is not beneficial. After adjusting for QRS duration, QRS morphology was no longer a determinant of the clinical response to CRT. In co...
